The theme of our Christmas Camp this year was HOPE! We can have hope because God sent His Son Jesus into the world to rescue us and to save us from our sins. On the 11 -13 December 120 people (students, short-termers and staff) gathered together at Manorom Christian Conference Centre to learn about this good news through hearing it told, seeing it acted out, doing fun activities and looking at what the Bible says for ourselves! Praise God both for people who came who were hearing this story for the 1st time and for those who heard it for the 100th time! Praise God for His glorious message of HOPE and ask that many would come to believe and trust in this message and in the God of Hope.

Mission trip to Cambodia
24th October -1st November
Praise God for his supremacy over all things, even
the smallest detail. Before and during our trip to Cambodia, the core group of
a dozen students and graduates planned and prayed for
their first organised evangelistic event. Sarah, Waew and
myself were asked to help enthuse and equip Khmer
students to share their faith. We were encouraged to see
the eagerness of the students to learn and practise visual
ways of presenting the gospel. Friends were invited to
play games, sing songs, watch drama, hear testimony and
a message of the lasting, indestructible hope we have in
Jesus Christ. There will be a follow-up small group
evangelistic bible study each Saturday lunchtime this term
and nine people responded with interest. Please pray for
the truth of God’s word to change Khmer students’
understanding and hearts.
We also visited the newly opened Friendship Centre in Siem Reap where a multicultural
ministry team is befriending students by teaching English and guitar, reading the
Bible and eating together. Please pray for students to make the centre ‘theirs’ and
for the establishing of godly relationships.
Cambodia has a beautiful cultural heritage but
many people’s lives have been tragically broken. We
observed the contrasts between rural life and a chaotic
existence in the capital city, between a local Khmer
congregation and an international fellowship, between the
material wealth and the spiritual poverty that tourism
brings. The creative energy of the Christian students and
the passion of church pastors stirs us to not forget their
commitment to building God’s kingdom, making disciples
and training up leaders.
Education is highly valued,
students might study two different
courses at two different universities
(lectures start at 7am!) and have a job to help pay fees.
International investment is fast changing Phnom Penh, though
the facilities at the university were really basic.
Thank you very much for your partnership in prayer,
enabling us to go to Cambodia and learn much from our crosscultural
experiences. We pray there might be further, future
links between Thai Christian Students and FES Cambodia.

Thank God for…
- The money that God provided so abundantly – more than enough, so that we could leave gifts with our brothers and sisters in Bangladesh.
- The new experiences each one of us was able to have.
- Safe travel there and back
- Team unity.
- The food, the friendliness and generosity of those we met, the wonderful welcome we were given.
- The love given to us from God that we were in turn able to express to others we met in Bangladesh.
- The gospel we were able to share with people and opportunities to talk clearly about God’s love and saving help.
Pray…
- That God would work in the lives of the people we met, who we were able to share the gospel with.
- For Christian workers and pastors in Bangladesh, for energy, wisdom and good health.
- For our friend Nuru (who was our guide) as he serves the church, and pray for the health of his mother who is ill.
- For the various ministries we visited (slums, medical clinic, hostels for children and women, Youth House type student ministry), that God would give wisdom to the leaders and opportunities to introduce people to Christ.
- For the 7 of us, now we are back that we would remain faithful in praying for the country of Bangladesh always.
- That Bangladesh would be able to send Christian workers to other countries.
- For the quality of life and health in Bangladesh.

The Fellowship of Evangelical Students Cambodia longs to see an indigenous, interdenominational, student-led movement of Christian students in Cambodia, teaching and encouraging each other to grow in faith, strengthen the local church, reach out to non-Christians, and model Christian life in Cambodia’s society and beyond.
An English girl, an Irish girl and a Thai girl would like to help them! Between 24th October and 1St November, we aim to visit staff workers in Siem Reap as they begin a new student ministry there and to work alongside the small groups of Christian students in Phnom Penh. We hope to be godly examples of love and service as we communicate the gospel of Jesus. Please join us in prayer!
October 5-16 seven Thai member of TCS in Central Thailand are planning to visit IFES in Bangladesh. They will be involved in teaching at a student drop-in centre, helping with leprosy patients and bringing God’s love to the destitute and homeless.
Please pray for them as they set out on this adventure of faith.
This is the first time we have sent a team further than one of our SouthEast Asian, Buddhist neighbours.

D is a high school student in Nakhon Sawan. Since she started coming to the Youth House about a year ago she was intrigued about why it was different to anywhere else she had ever been. Sure, people argued and fought just like at school, but then they made up, and forgave each other and, most strangely of all, thanked God for bringing resolution. D was curious. Who was this God? Someone at the Youth House gave her a Bible which she started to read. She kept coming to the Youth House and talking to people, people who knew God. She had many problems and hurts and doubts, but was really starting to be convicted that what she was hearing and reading about God was true. Since that initial curiosity D has grown to have her own personal faith in God and the message that He sent His son Jesus to our world to save us. Now she is able to tell others about Jesus too, and takes FREE John’s gospels with her to school to give to her friends. She still has many struggles, but now she faces them as a child of the Creator of the universe.
- Praise God for His powerful work in D’s life.
- Pray for her as she shares the gospel with her friends and family – that she would have courage and faith as she does so.
- Pray that she, and students like her, would stand fast in trials.

เรื่องของน้องมะนาว
มะนาวเป็นน้องคนหนึ่งที่ถือว่าเป็นสมาชิกเจ้าประจำของ Manorom Youth House เลยก็ว่าได้ เพราะทุกเย็นมะนาวจะต้องมานั่งรอพ่อที่นี่ มะนาวเป็นเด็กที่ไม่ค่อยมีปัญหาอะไรในชีวิต, มีความสุขและเป็นเด็กดี แต่สิ่งหนึ่งที่มะนาวกำลังแสวงหาคือทางที่จะช่วยให้เขาได้ขึ้นสวรรค์ เราได้เรียนรู้เรื่องพระเยซูด้วยกัน 2 ครั้งจากคู่มือศึกษาพระธรรมยอห์น ใน “พบพระเยซู” ซึ่งนี่เป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่ทำให้มะนาวได้รู้จักกับพระเจ้า, พระเยซู มะนาวพูดอยู่คำหนึ่งว่า ตอนแรกก็คิดว่าสิ่งที่ยึดเหนี่ยวอยู่ก็เป็นสิ่งที่ดีแล้วแต่เมื่อได้รู้จักกับความรักของพระเจ้าผ่านทางพระเยซูทำให้รู้ว่ายังมีสิ่งที่ดีกว่าและเป็นจะความหวังสำหรับชีวิตของมะนาวในอนาคต

ขอบคุณพระเจ้าสำหรับกลุ่มคริสเตียนซึ่งจะมาพบกันทุกเช้าวันศุกร์ช่วงเข้าแถว เรามีเวลากับน้องๆ ครั้งละประมาณ 1 ชั่วโมงเศษๆ ในการที่จะสร้างความสัมพันธ์และศึกษาพระคำของพระเจ้าด้วยกัน ตอนนี้เราใช้คู่มือ “พบพระเยซู” กับน้องๆ มัธยมจากโรงเรียนในจังหวัดอุทัยฯ ซึ่งใกล้จะจบเล่มแล้ว ที่ขอบคุณพระเจ้าเพราะน้องส่วนใหญ่ที่มาร่วมกลุ่มไม่ได้เป็นคริสเตียน และแต่ละอาทิตย์น้องที่เป็นคริสเตียนก็จะชวนเพื่อนหน้าใหม่ๆ เข้ามาร่วมกลุ่ม แต่ละอาทิตย์จะได้แจกพระกิตติคุณยอห์น (FREE!) อาทิตย์ละประมาณ 5 เล่ม สรรเสริญพระเจ้ากับสิ่งที่พระองค์ทรงกระทำที่โรงเรียนนี้จริงๆ
หัวข้ออธิษฐาน
-ขอให้น้องที่จะไม่ใช่แค่สนใจกิจกรรมสนุกๆ เท่านั้น แต่ทุกครั้งที่ได้ฟังเรื่องของพระเจ้า เขาจะเข้าใจความรักของพระเจ้าผ่านทางพระเยซูมากขึ้นๆ ในแต่ละครั้งที่ได้เรียน จนนำเขาไปถึงความรอด
-การสร้างน้องผู้นำในโรงเรียนนี้เพื่อวันหนึ่งข้างหน้า น้องเองจะสามารถเป็นผู้นำกลุ่มในโรงเรียนและที่อื่นๆ ได้
